Schizophrenia and online dating
I know the flip side of it is I'd probably be hesitant to go out with someone since I have no experience with it..is one difficult question. As Kathi said...it's difficult enough here without a label..luck to you and keep us informed!!used to know a guy with it, was more or less tanked out 24/7 on medication and went round the place with a big grin, eager to please the ladies....goggled Schizophrenia +dating and this came up lots, best of luck I guess :)Schizophrenia has a certain stigma, pretty strong stigma.I agree with a previous poster's response that if the person acts healthy and the person with schizophrenia tells her about it when it's definite that they like each other- then it will work out fine.

I have been diagnosed with Schizophrenia and am looking for long term dating.
I have a lot of trouble finding anyone on this site who is similar or even interested in me.
I have had girlfriends before and have turned to internet dating because it has been a while since I have been with someone. Sincerely Greg Grey Greg - I've had schizophrenia since i was a kid.
I actually have OCD, GAD, MDD, ADD, Bipolar 1 and 2 , and conversion disorder as well. My advice is as follows: Don't talk about it until you know shes interested. I have further found , that most girls give you the "aww you poor thing treatment" as well if you introduce it in a later stage than the first encounter. I would simply suggest that take things slow and hopefully you know yourself well enough to know when you may not be feeling or acting your best.

I've found that most girls don't give a hoot if they see that you're normal... I would definitely be honest though once you have dated for awhile- I think you will find most people do not see it as a negative and can understand you better once they know. I've never known anyone with these things diagnosed, but if I were going out with someone for a month or so and this came up I'd probably be quite angry it hadn't been mentioned before.
